Education

Education is the key to ending pet-overpopulation and the senseless deaths of millions of animals each year due to cruelty, irresponsibility and lack of knowledge. Whether it is informing the public that “If it is not safe for you, IT IS NOT SAFE FOR YOUR PET” or “spaying and neutering is the only solution to animal overpopulation,” we endeavor to enlighten, communicate, and educate. We work to cultivate a more humane animal ethic.

Prior to Hurricane Katrina, August 29, 2005, our involvement on government committees helped facilitate change in public policy. Our progressive and innovative programs into schools, businesses and public gatherings taught people of all ages about responsible animal ownership. Although we have lost our shelter, with many of us losing our homes, possessions and cars, we continue to educate. Education is the key to change and an improved Quality of Life for the animals entrusted to our care. We are reestablishing our programs and services and adding to our already strong arsenal to end pet overpopulation, cruelty and neglect.
