Our Home!

The Animal Rescue and Care Center (ARCC), the first of three phases of the Dorothy Dorsett Brown Louisiana SPCA Campus,  was unveiled in ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremonies May 18, 2007. Thanks to the many donors who came to our aid after Hurricane Katrina, and those who do so as we rebuild, we are able to continue with our mission of 119 years. We are committed to being advocates for the animals of Louisiana by advancing their welfare, promoting their interests, and fostering the human-animal bond through innovative programs, education, and service. Thank you for your support and belief in our mission!

Dog Day Afternoon 2008 was held Sunday, April 6th, at Audubon Park. It was something to bark about! Roop Raj, affectionately know as "Roop Dog" was awesome as emcee for the Doggie Contests. The Bulldog, long time LA/SPCA supporter, severed their delicious Jambalaya from their magical bottomless pot. The Kiwanis Club of Algiers RULED the grill area, cooking hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie kabobs. Thanks to everyone who came out to show support for the Louisiana SPCA.

Deborah, Shelly and Ginger pause for a photo
while working The Bulldog's Pots-o-Gold. We raised
$1247.63 by manning the bathrooms at the St. Patrick's Day parade.
What a fun way to earn money for the animals! Thank you, Bulldog!
