LA/SPCA Scales Back Services
New Orleans, LA (12-30-2008) – With the current agreement due to
expire at midnight on New Year’s Eve, City of New Orleans has
proposed a one year agreement that will leave the LA/SPCA with a
$400,000 shortfall in 2009 and an inability to adequately
provide all of the essential animal control services. As a
result, the agency
will be
forced to reduce services on January 1, 2009 to work within
the $2,350,000 budget specified by the City of N.O.
